Ray Kwiatkowski became fascinated by the Litchfield County countryside right after college, when he took a job delivering early morning newspapers. He began taking black and white photos of country roads and other rural scenes, discovering new beauty along the way, which became his lifelong pursuit. Later, as a freelance writer, his photos often appeared with the articles he wrote. In 2013, he published "Rural Wealth," a book of his verses and photos. "I like to exhibit images that are intended to teach as well as bring insight into what is often just a glance away," says Kwiatkowski, who was self taught and influenced by conversations he had with the late photographic artist, Donald Bruen.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3725088505376596705.post-36382018463396155622017-07-11T07:06:00.001-07:002017-07-11T07:06:46.018-07:00Artist Dennis William Stuart<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjpZTqq9aDRrqH705waLFRSs1PlOOTC-oWm5XpKiYLcIVd38u1VLGeSxPW17DaR7nSFySW_fEtRHkFJixp884gJKCs3XVF1LsWH2Z5UaWpHCpZGM3S_km9Cnta_GXbE-g-CW4OyW_iDPEA/s1600/DENNIS+STUART.png" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjpZTqq9aDRrqH705waLFRSs1PlOOTC-oWm5XpKiYLcIVd38u1VLGeSxPW17DaR7nSFySW_fEtRHkFJixp884gJKCs3XVF1LsWH2Z5UaWpHCpZGM3S_km9Cnta_GXbE-g-CW4OyW_iDPEA/s320/DENNIS+STUART.png" width="210" height="320" data-original-width="581" data-original-height="884" /></a></div>

Brief Bio: Michael Centrella is a self-taught painter who works primarily in oil colors. Formerly on the faculties of the University of Connecticut and Yale Medical Schools, he began to paint about six years ago in preparation for retirement. And now retired, he considers creating art the best “job” he ever had. During this period his work has been shown at several commercial galleries in Connecticut, at the New Britain Museum of American Art, at the Lyme Art Association, and at the New Haven Paint and Clay Club where this year his painting was given the Carl J. Blenner Prize. He is mainly inspired by early to mid 20th century realists, including Fairfield Porter, Edward Hopper, Lucian Freud, Joachin Sorolla, and John Singer Sargent, although his work does not emulate those masters. He paints the full gamut of landscape, cityscape, seascape, still life, and figural images, with a greater focus on the challenge of figures in the last few years. His paintings are now in private collections throughout the USA.
I don’t expect that people will necessarily find many of my paintings commonplace or pretty. Rather, I want the images to present a context that can develop a visual story for the viewer. I am surprised that, in retirement, I don’t have as much time as I would like to paint. Because of this I often try to produce an image in a single session, or at least with minimal adjustment soon after. Even so, I am seldom completely satisfied with a painting right after it is created. But I have finally learned that more is not always better, and to stop when the story appears to be told.
The following comments from George Bellows, I think, well describe some of my thoughts on painting: As he wrote:
"I am always very amused with people who talk about lack of subjects for painting. The great difficulty is that you cannot stop to sort them out enough. Wherever you go they are waiting for you".
“There is a strange disease in people's minds which makes them imagine themselves as arbiters of beauty, and creates a constant and foolish demand that pictures be all 'pretty'. As if Shakespeare had always gone around writing love sonnets."
Finally, as a rule, I try to paint until I can produce something that I would admire if I knew that someone else painted it. That may seem odd, but it’s true.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3725088505376596705.post-16754773174038790962016-03-02T11:02:00.001-08:002016-03-02T11:02:53.717-08:00Susan GrissellFebruary 28, 2016 through April 10, 2016

Susan, a life-long Gaylordsville residents, began studying with her neighbor, impressionist master Bernard Lennon in 1964. She continued to paint with him until his death in `1992 and still works in his studio. She considers her work to be an exploration of the relationship of man to nature: a visual diar y in which each piece represents a specific time and place as perceived by the artist. She works primarily, though not exclusively, on location and has painted extensively in this country and in France and Italy.
Susan exhibits mainly in outdoor shows. Among her awards are: Best in Show in Mystic and New Milford; First Prize in Oils in Mystic, New Milford and the Washington Square Outdoor Art Exhibit in New York; First Prize in Watercolor in Newport and an Honorable Mention in the Connecticut Pastel Society's Invitational Show. Other awards include Best Landscape (Washington Square) and the Brackman Award for Figure and Portraiture (Mystic).
She demonstrated and lectured at several schools and organizations, including the North Shore Art League of Long Island and the Kent Memorial Library, New Milford Historical Society and Gallery 25, all of Connecticut. She has also demonstrated on videotape for the benefit of students and others interested in a straightforward approach to painting landscapes, still life and the figure. She is a New York City and a past Member of the Kent Art Association and the Lyme Art Association, both of Connecticut.
Two of her painting accompany the poems of Neil Silberblatt in his recent book of verse "Present Tense."
Her work is in private collections throughout the United States and Europe, Japan and Australia and is gaining popularity in France and China.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3725088505376596705.post-89397375176880866532015-10-07T11:24:00.001-07:002015-10-07T11:24:39.160-07:00Richard Stalter October 25, 2015Richard Stalter

Richard was born in Dayton, Ohio on April 27th 1934. He developed an interest in art at a very early age, gaining recognition for his work in both grade school and high school. He kept his interest in art alive in his college years at Ohio State University and after he graduated. He mistakenly thought that advertising was the only practical way to utilize his artistic interests to make a living.
In 1958, during a six month stay in New York City, he met and befriended a master impressionist artist, Bernard Lennon. In l964, Richard quit his job in advertising and moved to Gaylordsville, Ct to study with Mr. Lennon and began his career as a professional artist. That year also marked the beginning of his participation in the Washington Square Outdoor Art Exhibit (New York City) and the Mystic Outdoor Art Festival (Mystic, Ct). Throughout the years, he won many prizes in both shows including First Prize in Oils four times in the Mystic exhibition and Special Landscape Award at the Washington Square show. During those years he also participated in other group shows in the Northeast winning prizes several times in Newport, RI and once in Atlantic City, NJ.
Mr. Stalter paints his subjects on location finding inspiration from scenes throughout the Litchfield Hills and nearby New York State, within easy reach of his Gaylordsville home. He paints all four seasons at these locations and adds figures and still life painting done from life to his body of work. From the 1960's through the 1980's, he traveled yearly to Provincetown and Wellfleet on Cape Cod to capture the seaside light and subjects and visited there in 2007 to paint. Beginning in the 80's, he sought out the boat and water subjects on Mystic and Stonington, Ct. He still paints there two or three times a year.
One of his lifelong ambitions was to preserve the best of contemporary impressionist works of art in a museum which he spent five years (1994-1999) helping in the unsuccessful attempt to raise sufficent funds to establish it in New Milford, Ct.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3725088505376596705.post-55797907082804356022015-03-30T08:56:00.002-07:002015-03-30T08:56:58.499-07:00Christina Achorn March 29 through May 10, 2015<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhunFLHeLBdlevQgQ5_a5HFTpeAA_70tODJ02Vx7SvCVhCXvfSOu38Q-JwYs_bKWf7a0mH033Hr30H56NN_JQ5qURB18YZcjwKS_a5Imy-ds0E8dkJvXK7DlWVCkwCq-yYo4BGJaeA0qSE/s1600/lion.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhunFLHeLBdlevQgQ5_a5HFTpeAA_70tODJ02Vx7SvCVhCXvfSOu38Q-JwYs_bKWf7a0mH033Hr30H56NN_JQ5qURB18YZcjwKS_a5Imy-ds0E8dkJvXK7DlWVCkwCq-yYo4BGJaeA0qSE/s320/lion.jpg" /></a></div>
Christina’s work primarily consists of charcoal drawings which employ figures and settings derived from her own invention. She learned traditional applications of fine arts and human anatomy while attaining her Bachelors of Fine Arts at the Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts in Old Lyme, Connecticut. Upon her arrival at the Lyme Academy in 2010, as a Drawing major, she was awarded the Chandler Scholarship and the CICS Independent College Scholarship for the merit of her portfolio.

I am a self taught multi media artist specializing in water color and ink works. I also enjoy illustration and look forward to exploring it more in the future. I have been hiding "Lacee Art" illustrations in the downtown New Milford businesses for several years. These completely free, positive illustrations invite the participant to my social media pages to come along my journey exploring self expression. Some of these "Lacee Art"s also are redeemable for free commission work. I genuinely enjoy doing commissions because they challenge me. As much as I love to create art for me I love receiving direction as well. I'm open to commissions at the moment and would love to work on new projects.
I have been on a mission these past few years to celebrate life. My recent works have been a reflection of that. I have been in the mist of a expressive color study. I've been focusing in on line work as well. I find line work to be the most fulfilling part of any piece.
You can fallow my creative path on FaceBook at www.facebook.com/LaceeArt or on Instagram @LaceeSmiles or also by using the hashtag #LaceeArt .Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3725088505376596705.post-46964710687758548402014-12-05T12:55:00.000-08:002014-12-05T12:55:24.115-08:00Bette Anne Wygant

My Journey
Each painting explores the energy of eternal light, that can heal & inspire all of us. We only need to recognize it around us and within us. I hope my work inspires others to find and share that light. I have been an oil painter for forty-eight years. It is my quest to investigate and experience the bond between the physical and spiritual worlds. We are just one breath away from continuing.
Visit my other website here www.bawshop.com for more about me and my art work.
Also visit my posts on Unity.Gallery - a social network for artists: www.unity.gallery
Here is a video featuring me and my work there as well:
Let me share this with you, ”Day of Judgement” (below), was painted in 1974, after my brother was murdered while attending Law School. His death sent me on a lifelong journey to understand and connect with a deeper reality. Recently I was able to continue this healing process by participating in a show in Newtown, CT where "Healing Through Art" was the focus. Through my art I was able to connect with a few who had lost loved ones in the recent tragedy. They were reassured to see and hear the good news of eternal love and healing that is possible. I look forward to continuing on this journey through similar opportunities where others can share in this experience.

Another focus of my work is on the Natural energy that surounds all living things. In this painting, "Spring Symphony" (below) I share my impression of a moment in time. While I was riding in my car, I glanced out the window as the Sun peeked out of the dark raincloud to reveal an intoxicating sea of wildflowers, while listening to the Brandenburg concertos. I was overwhelmed with the beauty of the moment.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3725088505376596705.post-55798624625274386832014-10-20T13:08:00.000-07:002014-10-20T13:08:47.912-07:00J.G. " Superb, large, figurative paintings that tell stories... of a social nature...Active and pensive only begin to describe the intent behind these remarkable works...a wealth of remarkable paintings that address such important contemporary issues as cultural diversity and the challenges inherent in personal relationships...

<b>Artists Barbara Soares and Jim Stasiak</b>
July 1, 2014 through August 9, 2014
"Meditations on Water," is a collection of fine art prints by award-winning photographers Barbara Soares and Jim Stasiak presents the transformative and healing nature of water. These images capture moments of tranquility, energy and flow which can be used for meditation and reflection.
Water surrounds and envelopes us. We interact with it every day. This collection of photographs presents an opportunity to share our connections to water with you. The images were photographed in locations ranging from the mountains of New Hampshire and the rivers of Connecticut, to the ocean in Maine and the island of St. Lucia. We hope that you find the soothing reflections, rushing spray and gentle waves an invitation to pause and meditate, to imagine the fleeting movement of the water carrying you to a different state of mind and being.
Bio / Artist's Statement: Barbara Soares
Barbara Soares, MA, is an award-winning fine art photographer, reiki master, performance artist, and digital imaging pioneer. She received her training in photography and creative arts expression from The New School, Pratt Institute, Barnard College and The Graduate Institute, and has studied with Erica Steinberger, John Paul Caponigro, Tillman Crane and Alberto Villoldo. Her work has been shown in galleries, schools, and alternate spaces in New York City, Connecticut and Westchester, including the Mattatuck Museum, Canton Artists Guild, Silvermine Guild Arts Center, Washington Art Association, Artwell Gallery and the Atrium Gallery of the Warner Theatre.
Barbara's style of bold color and photo/graphic design is derived in part from her experience in art therapy, transformational energy and reiki healing. Her work of the past 25 years has been done as a zen meditation in seeing, photographing and printing images as 'visual haiku' that challenge the viewer to perceive the world in a different light and composition.
"My creative process involves getting to a 'no-mind' state, where I experience a scene intuitively, where time seems to stand still and magic can happen. Being able to capture a bit of that magic and transform it into a work that enables the viewer to experience that fleeting moment for as long as they wish is at the core of my work. Passion, resonance, shadow and light, form and movement, essence of the moment, essence of the heart - these are the raw materials I draw from and live for."
Her most recent work, "Meditations On Water" is a collaboration with Jim Stasiak.

Artist's Bio/Statement: Jim Stasiak
Jim Stasiak is a photographer, instructor and printing arts professional residing in New Milford, CT. His work spans over 40 years of documentary, creative and travel photography, in both film and digital processes. He is experienced in professional retouching and optimizing of images for the fashion, music and specialty products industries; preparing images for fine lithographic printing; teaching professional Photoshop techniques for photographers and artists; and consulting in systems and software for the photographic process. His photos have been selected for juried shows at the Mattatuck Musem, Canton Artists Guild, Silvermine Art Center and Artwell Gallery.
Jim has given workshops in Fine Art Giclée Printmaking at the New England Photographic Workshops and Northern Exposures Photographic Gallery. He was Gallery Director and digital photography instructor at the New England School of Photographic Arts, and attended Pratt Institute, where he was Photography Editor of the student newspaper.
“A photograph records a moment in time. The translation of that moment into a meaningful image displays the photographer’s intent to capture the viewer’s imagination and curiosity, expand the viewer’s perception, and evoke an emotional response. My prints derive primarily from photographs: some are literal translations of the captured moment, others become the basis for images contained within the moment. Much as seeing a print develop in a tray of chemicals has always been magical for me, there is a similar thrill of discovery in finding and developing an image hidden in a photograph, and seeing it come to life in my digital darkroom. Being able to print these images and share them with the rest of the world is its own reward.”
His most recent work, "Meditations On Water" is a collaboration with Barbara Soares.

My passion has always been animals and nature's beauty. The camera is my way of documenting what I have witnessed and experienced. When looking at photographs I have taken, I relive the emotions of those moments. This collection is just a "swatch" of the 1400 photos I took in the Galapagos in March, 2013.
Going to "The Enchanted Islands" was a surreal experience for me. The islands were formed by volcanic eruptions in the Pacific Ocean and each island has its own unique fauna and flora. The native animals haave no predators (other than the friendly Galapagos Hawk) and do not fear humans. I found their serenity contagious. Many times, I had to walk around a sea liton. Booby or tortoise that was not about to get off the trail marked for humans.
When photographing animals, I prefer to focus on only one or a pair, capturing the esssence of each as an individual of its species.
I took all of these photos of wildlife at close range. Other than some cropping, none of the photos was digitally enhanced. I am grateful that I have always had the good health and time to travel extensively. It is with the encouragement of my loving family, that I am sharing this collection. \
My hope is that by sharing these images, your adventuresome spirit will be activated, and that you will work to help protect our earth's animals and environment. I must add my emotions are entirely different when I look at photos I took while tenting in the Serengeti in Tanzania. There it is a violent world for animals, and I did not sleep well.
Galapagos: A truly peacable kingdom . . . and for how much longer?

Todd Umbarger is a native of New Milford and a 1995 graduate of New Milford High School. Following his graduation from Hartford Art School in 1999 with a BFA in Illustration, he moved to New York City and worked for several web and media companies before embarking on a career in freelance illustration. He has been published in various editorial, institutional and educational entities and worked with clients such as HBO, Anheuser-Busch and the United Nations. He also created a popular series of online political cartoons and exhibited them at The Silo in New Milford in 2010. Umbarger has since returned to Connecticut and in 2012 made a transition into fine art. He is currently a graphic artist at Whole Foods Market Danbury.
The “Point of Impact” series depicts the spectacle of an explosion as a surreal Pop art object. The explosion is both a horrific act of violence and a staple of modern entertainment. We recoil at the death and destruction caused at home and abroad by these fiery combustions while we simultaneously cheer the contemporary heroes of film, television and gaming who employ them regularly. The eruptions of “Point of Impact” are presented without context- no geography, no victims, no debris- and are pure solid forms of fire and smoke. Each panel is a unique exploration of shape and color while retaining a sense of force and light. “Point of Impact” also symbolizes one man’s long-desired burst of artistic energy after a demoralizing creative drought.

Deedee Calvey is an artist and tai chi instructor. She has been exhibiting locally since before the turn of the century! Born Donna Diane Ball, Dee remembers enjoying making art for as long as she can remember. Her kindergarten report card reads: Donna has good ability and especially enjoys and does well at art work.
It is as true today as it was then. In touch with my creator, Deedee has become very present in trying to capture the beauty and movement of light and color. Finding symbols in the negative spaces delights her when she discovers them with her brush. Deedee says: “I am delighted when you like what i do!”
Deedee has had many exhibits, the latest being at the Bank Street Coffee House and New Milford Public Library. She has done portraits of people, pets and homes and has been commissioned for various art project. She sells her paintings throughout the year.

Charles Gehm has been a fine artist and illustrator for over 60 years. Displaying exceptional talent as a child, he was selected to paint a large wall mural depicting The Intellectual Phases of Education on acoustic tiles in his Alliance, OH high school. When years later the old school was replaced with a new one, this mural was lovingly removed and reassembled in its new place of honor. Charles subsequently received the school’s Distinguished Alumnus Award. He won the Scholastic Art Awards 1948 Certificate of Merit along with their scholarship to attend the Columbus College of Art and Design, where he studied under Joseph Canzani. His studies were interrupted by service in the Korean War; upon returning home he enrolled in the Chicago Academy of Fine Art.
Charles enjoyed great success as an illustrator. During his long career he created book cover art for every major United States publishing house. His illustrated young adult books The Thanksgiving Treasure and A House Without a Christmas Tree (Scholastic) have both been televised. Also in his resume are magazine illustrations for Redbook, Reader’s Digest, and Good Housekeeping, record jacket covers for Columbia Records, and advertising art for clients including Delta Airlines, Kellogg’s, E&J Brandy and Land o’ Lakes.
Highly prized, his collectible art projects include a series of limited edition Gone With The Wind prints (Marks Collection), Wizard of Oz prints (Marks Collection), and Grimm’s Fairy Tales plates (Bradford Exchange). He painted the now collectible poster for the film Barry Lyndon. Other movie posters include The Island, The River, The Betsey, and Death on the Nile. In 2002, The Board of the New York Stock Exchange selected him to create their Christmas card for that season. The original painting now hangs in the NTSE Museum.
Along with his commercial projects, Charles worked as a fine artist. He has received numerous awards for his fine art, including Best in Show from The Butler Art Institute, OH, The Kent Art Association, CT, and The Richter Association for the Arts, CT. His oil and watercolor paintings have been shown in The Husberg Fine Arts Gallery, AZ, The Vanier & Roberts Gallery, AZ, The National Arts Club, NY, The Salmagundi Art Club, NY, as well as in various galleries in Connecticut.
Sharing his love of art with students, Charles taught life drawing and painting at The Chicago Academy of Fine Arts, illustration at Pratt Institute, NY, and drawing, design, painting and illustration at Western Connecticut State University. He has been a member of The Society of Illustrators, The Salmagundi Club and The National Arts Club. Currently a member of The Oil Painters of America, he has participated in several of their group shows.
Charles resides in Connecticut with his artist wife, Judy York.

her surroundings. Her artistic ability was developed over the last 40+ years expressed as contemporary
artwork with an edge, a statement and a message.
Early in her artistic career (1970s), her art earned her the label of New York City feminist representational
and social commentary visual artist as she produced monumental original artwork and poetry as
a counter statement to what she felt as demeaning aspects of the sexual revolution of the period.
This artwork was in exhibits with such notable feminist artists as Judy Chicago, Miriam Schapiro, Joan
Semmel, Anne Sharp, Linda Benglis, Agnes Denes, Hannah Wilke, Sylvia Sleigh and Judith Bernstein
to name a few. Her feminist art is in the Elizabeth A. Sackler Feminist Art Base on the Brooklyn Museum
web site. This work has been in museum and gallery exhibits and published in feminist art journals
and publications. Biographical information and image of one of her paintings is in Women Artists of
America II.
Throughout her artistic career, she has maintained a thread of communicating messages or making
statements in her art due, no doubt, to her studying Advertising Design & Visual Communications at
Pratt Institute. Her messages and statements have changed as she has grown artistically and personally,
but her statements are always been about humanity and the human condition. She has always remained
an innovator in her art.
Her work is in corporate and private collections. Aside from her inclusion in the Elizabeth A. Sackler
Feminist Art Base, she is also in Clara, the Archive Library of the National Museum of Women in the
Arts (Washington, DC), and WAAND, the feminist woman artists data base at Rutgers University.
She resides in Danbury, CT where she has her studio.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3725088505376596705.post-25029159684438925492013-10-08T11:17:00.001-07:002013-10-08T11:17:46.594-07:00Mo Myra Illustrations<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLCf8OhmadhPzGzUIecWh4HOS3jADLq7lbKO2Z5ahXdGRodioMqpdZ-enSrIaq__CshckCD_8Yj54ixv_K_tFdTMEqoqdBwiR9n_n7kiVV6tiJNjDgkjB7k03XsPJV3XkNuM082x6-QaM/s1600/Mo+Myra.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLCf8OhmadhPzGzUIecWh4HOS3jADLq7lbKO2Z5ahXdGRodioMqpdZ-enSrIaq__CshckCD_8Yj54ixv_K_tFdTMEqoqdBwiR9n_n7kiVV6tiJNjDgkjB7k03XsPJV3XkNuM082x6-QaM/s320/Mo+Myra.jpg" /></a></div>

August 25-October 6, 2013
Since I was a little girl I loved to spend hours drawing and doodling on any paper that I could fine. Now, I am a student artist and currently attending Northwestern Connecticut Community College. I have been working on my Associate Degree in Fine Arts for the past two years. I have been in two art student shows at Northwestern Community College and a student art show at Artwell Gallery in Torrington, Connecticut. Also, several of my artworks are displayed in private collections. I am currently employed as an Art Teacher at a Private School.
The work that I am displaying at the New Milford Public Library ranges from oil paintings, film photography, and charcoal drawings. I will also be displaying in a case pottery, cardboard and clay objects, and additional film photographs. My favorite medium of art is oil painting and film photography. I enjoy working with the materials and having a hands on experience with my art work rather than working with computers and technology. Walker
A Life of Art (1927- 2012)
What: Robert E. Walker’s lifetime artistic endeavors and accomplishments will be on view for the first time ever.
When: On June 2nd, 2013, for approximately 6 weeks
Where: The New Milford Public Library, New Milford, CT 06776
Why: Robert Walker passed on July 9, 2012 leaving a legacy of Great Art and Design. He came ‘up’ weekend’s (from NYC) to the New Milford area for over 40 years. For over 60 years ‘Bob’ evolved as an Artist and Designer both personally and professionally. He was always very talented and well received. What you will see are the Major Stages of this Artist’s life, Childhood/School Years, through his Professional and Retirement Years.
What were his major influences? How can someone who grew up in a small Mid-Western town end up working and ‘making it big’ in a big city?
Art was Bob’s life from the time he could color in a coloring book. Much can be learned, by both young and old, from this Graphic Genius, Humanitarian and Company Man. Bob was a man of true humble beginnings. He had a ferocious drive and boatload of innate talent, creativity and passion for both art and his fellow man. A rare man indeed, Bob was loved by all throughout his entire life.
This exhibition will show the depths of his classic and endless talent and creativity and that a nice guy really can, and did, finish on top.
Bob lived and worked during the Golden Age of Art and Design in New York City and the world. Many of the Great’s either knew or worked with Robert Walker including photographer Irving Penn.
Mr. Walker was influential in the discovery of several well-known actors and actresses in the 60’s through 80’s.
Recruited by Alexander Leiberman directly out of UCLA, Bob spent 15 years as art director at Vogue Magazine. Later, he spent 17 years as Creative Director at Clinique, where he was recognized by Leonard Lauder, Estee Lauder/Clinique Executive as “...such a big part of our success.”
Upon ‘semi-retiring’ from the Big Apple Bob said: “It’s curious to me now, looking back at my artistic endeavors and how I’ve evolved, how I am still anxious for the next challenge life brings my way.”
As you the viewer will see, Bob was always comfortable with Color, Composition and Design and Drawing! As a lifetime Creative Director for and amongst the best, Bob never found an assignment he couldn’t or wouldn’t do and, yes, excel at doing.
All ages and aspirations will gain BIG from viewing this accomplished (award winning) man’s incredible journey.

Ron Crowcroft
Paint Marker on Canvas
December 16th through March 10, 2013
<i>Artist thoughts<b></b></i>
The works in this show are all made with acrylic and oil-based paint markers on canvas.
They are biomorphic abstractions, with aboriginal and ancient glyph-like elements. Viewers may associate some of the images with animals, fish, birds, heads, figures, eyes or internal organs.
I have created artwork in various media for forty years, including painting, drawing, sculpture/assemblage, photography, performance art/events, conceptual art, humor, experimental music and soundwork and writing/poetry.
Early impulses include Yoko Ono, who first stimulated me to create, followed closely by Dada, Surrealism, Fluxus, Minimal Art and Conceptual Art. The work in this show may still show elements of the Fab Four . . . Miro, Klee, Kandinsky and Arp, as well as those of meso-american aboriginal, rock art and other ancient/ethnic cultures. I have exhibited work in many countries, music has been played on various radio stations and have been noted in various magazines, newspapers and books. Several works have been archived in MOMA, The National Library of Australia, etc. I will have a poem included in the twice yearly Buddhist magazine, Inquiring Minds in the spring of 2013.
I demystify and simplify the physical process of creation in order to deepen the sychronous aftereffects of experiencing the work, hoping it will continue to surprise, educate and pleas.e
I love an artwork that thinks for itself.

Cheryl Bartley Folk Art
Folk Art for the Spirit
American Folk Art Painter, Cheryl Bartley’s artistic talent was apparent from an early age when she produced her first works of art as a means of communication. Raised by a French speaking family, she relied on a paintbrush and a box of paint to express herself to her English speaking friends.
Her early love of expressing herself with her art resulted in working for over 25 years as a graphic artist in the manufacture of wallpaper and textiles. During these years, Cheryl developed the skills necessary to understand the technical aspects in the creation of wallpaper and textile design, color theory, computer design, oil painting, acrylic painting, watercolor painting, and the proper care and utilization of quality artist materials.
Although trained as a graphic artist, Cheryl now unleashes her imagination and creativity from her “Folk Art Spirit” studio 403, 100 Whiting Street, The Whiting Mills, Winchester, Ct. The inspiration for her life long fascination with telling stories with paint is revealed in her folk art spirited creations. Each painting will enchant you with its detailed happy scenes of simpler times. She utilizes mixtures of vibrant colors to produce scenes from her imagination and actual places that are warm and inviting, vibrant and exciting. Her preferred medium is acrylic on canvas or wood, and watercolor on paper.
Her folk art collection can be seen at her studio in Winchester Connecticut or on her web site <a href="www.cherylbartleydesigns.com">www.cherylbartleydesigns.com</a>. Her paintings and prints are found in private collections and businesses worldwide. Cheryl's folk art is licensed to manufacturers of wall calendars, greeting cards, puzzles, and prints that are sold world wide. Cheryl holds a B.A. in Psychology with a portfolio in fine art from St. Joseph College for Women in West Hartford, Ct.

My artworks are in the Congregational Church, Children's Hospital, Schools and also with private collectors. I paint large size artworks and murals. I have completed artworks based on clients needs and this describes the variety of mediums and strokes in my paintings. My preferred style of paintings uses acrylic and thick gels with knife strokes as seen in the paintings titled 'Love at First Note' and the 'Flamenco Flare'. I also like to create representational artworks using oil colors.
I have led youth groups to create large size artworks. This was featured on WHCTV episode titled 'Leading Youth to Art'. You may view this segment in the press releases section of my website. http://fineartamerica.com/profiles/sushobha-jenner.html

I have been painting since 1992, mostly in acrylics, occasionally in oils or multimedia. Most of
my work tries to capture visions that have come to me throughout my life. Some of these are
visions that just pop out of the canvas, others are from my past, some from noteworthy dreams,
others are spontaneous waking visions.
One of those visions is of a certain range of mountains that has particular meaning for me and
which has haunted me all my life. Since 2008 I have been working on a series dedicated to this
theme, exploring the possibilities of where it might take me.
Rather than trying to paint traditional landscapes, I want to create a sense of the dream quality
that these landscapes have for me, and so they tend toward a certain impressionistic abstraction,
with shapes, colors and strokes representing the energy of subliminal imagery and symbolic
content. If there is a meaning or message in my works, it manifests only after they are completed.
For me each painting is a process of allowing imagery to suggest itself spontaneously, doing
away with the unnecessary, and refining the painting to meet my aesthetic goals of color,
composition and effect.
I have lived in Northwestern Connecticut for most of my life, sometimes making second homes in
San Francisco CA, Cork Ireland and Glasgow Scotland. My professional calling has been as a land-
scape gardener and designer which has allowed me to follow my other passion (painting) in the
down months of winter. My experience outdoors in nature has always influenced my paintings.
My father, Bill Sakren, was an artist, illustrator and professional cartoonist, and I grew up drawing
and painting from age one.
I have had solo shows at Artwell Gallery and The Warner Atrium Gallery in Torrington, The Gallery
at NCCC in Winsted, Cornwall Library and Burnham Library, and have been in group shows at
ALL Gallery in New Haven, Risley Gallery in Litchfield, Periodic Art in Stonington, Windham Arts
Collaborative in Willimantic, and First Street Gallery in Chelsea, among others.

Growing up and playing thirty three years in New England's backwoods Steve Eazarsky lives by an old Frank Lloyd Wright adage, "Study nature, love nature, stay close to nature. It will never fail you." Combining those elements with his trained eye, broad imagination and camera he artistically captures life on all scales; from clouds rolling over hills to a single blade of grass and to life on all levels.
Landscape and light play is Steve's primary photographic medium, leaving Mother Nature to set the stage. His ability arriving right on time to capture these images is uncanny. A self-taught photographer his landscapes are reminiscent of Ansel Adams, but with a twist. Steve uses a modern Digital SLR. He does not manipulate any photo.
John Muir sums up Steve's everyday mentality, "Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares drop off like autumn leaves."
Raised in Watertown, Connecticut, Steve received a degree in chemistry in 2001. Having worked in the chemical industry has only spurred his advocacy of open spaces, wildlife refuges, and state and national parks. And he is very greatful for having so much beauty to experience, capture and share.
Outside is where you will find him.
